Chirk avenged their 7-0 league defeat by Mold in November by dumping them out of the NEWFA Cup. Chirk scored through striker Gareth Roberts who netted his eleventh goal of the season against a Mold side who had won their last four games. Mold replied in kind and with the score locked at 1-1 and with only a minute of time remaining up popped veteran defender Mike Hughes to seal the win for Chirk.
Next week Chirk are back in league action when they travel to Llay Welfare, 2.00pm KO.
Chirk Reserves had no
fixture. Next Saturday they entertain Division One leaders Bala Reserves in
the opening round of the Horace Wynne Cup, 2.00pm KO.
