7/4/07  NEWFA Cup Semi-Final (Played At Brymbo)

Chirk AAA 0-1 Bala Town

 

Chirk missed out on the chance of reaching the final of the NEWFA Cup when they lost 1-0 to Cymru Alliance leaders Bala Town.  Chirk did themselves proud with the village side matching the big spending Bala outfit for most of the game.  Keeper Anthony Valentine again impressed alongside youngsters Matty Evans and Andrew Roberts.  Bala scored their sole goal just before half time through leading scorer Neil Davies and will now meet the winner of the Buckley and Gresford Semi -Final which has yet to be played.  The final is played on Wrexham's Racecourse Ground.

 

Chirk face Premier Division strugglers Borras Park Albion at Holyhead Road on Friday evening with a 6.15 pm KO.

 

Chirk Reserves had no fixture this weekend and are home against Penyffordd next Saturday, 2.30 pm KO.
