Rhos Aelwyd 0-0
Chirk AAA (Match abandoned at half time)
This was Chirk's first fixture in three weeks
with the team raring to go. What looked to be a difficult opening cup tie
away to last seasons champions Rhos Aelwyd could of been very rewarding
with Chirk edging the play leading up to half time. Referee J Coulthard
suffered a hamstring injury before the interval and was unable to continue
second half resulting in the match abandoned.
Next week Chirk are back in league action when
they travel to fourth placed Hawarden Rangers, 2.30pm KO.

Chirk Reserves
6-1 Glyn Ceiriog Reserves
Chirk reserves returned back to winning ways with
a 6-1 mauling of Glyn Ceiriog. Chirk went in front on 10 minutes after
midfielder Chris Hughes cheekily back heeled a corner kick in from four
yards out. Chirk's second came through leading scorer Joe Roberts on 25
minutes with the youngster latching onto a Ben Davies pass to lob the
visiting keeper from 20 yards out. Justin Jones scored the goal of the game
three minutes before half time letting fly from the edge of the area, his
powerful shot flying in off the post after a surging upfield run. After the
interval Chirk started where they had left off with the father/son
combination of Mike and Chris Hughes proving to much for the visitors.
Chris Hughes scored his sides fourth and fifth goals to gain himself a
hatrick with defender Steve Davies also grabbing a goal for himself before
the final whistle.
Manager Tony Ellis will be pleased with his sides
win which keeps them in second place in the table.
Next Saturday the reserves are again at home when
they face league newcomers Caergwrle Castle, 2.30pm KO.
